Linda had always believed that pin was cheap costume jewelry.

Logan knew better.

He had simply built an entire marriage on the hope that I would never correct her in public.

I did not break down.

I did not raise my voice.

I placed my water glass carefully on the white tablecloth and folded my hands neatly in my lap.
