My father threw me out during a storm when I was fifteen years old.

Then she showed them a screenshot I had never seen before and a bruise I had never given her.

That was all it took.

My father did not ask where the screenshot came from.

My mother did not ask why the bruise was on the part of Khloe’s arm she had been hiding all afternoon.

They asked me one question, and when my voice shook, they treated that as proof.
