I was six months pregnant the morning Michael kicked open our bedroom door at 5:04 a.m.

I wanted to say I had been up half the night from pain.

I wanted to say his mother had eaten food I cooked every weekend for six months and had never once washed a dish.

I wanted to ask what kind of man needed his pregnant wife to prove respect with bacon and pancakes before sunrise.
